Tamiko and Cyndi are one of the sweetest couples we have ever had the pleasure to work with. Their love is written all over their beautiful faces every time they look at each other. Their wedding was held in the currently renovating Los Angeles Police Academy Rock Garden, and their ceremony area was set against a gorgeous waterfall backdrop. By entering the Rock Garden, every guest is transported into a world of forestry and enchantment.
They were surrounded by their beautiful children on this special day who were the ones who gave them away to one another and walked them down the aisle to the moving “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri performed by The Piano Guys (a wedding processional favorite!). During the ceremony, they even whispered words of love that were exclusive only to their ears as the audience witnessed their emotions being poured out in front of them.
The day was wonderfully captured by Kevin Lee and Jay Tayag, their photographers, and Wedding Video in LA, their videographers. Their amazing DJ June Yamaki was always on point with her music and never missed a beat thereby making every moment of this wedding day a spectacular event.
One of the best elements of Tamiko and Cyndi’s wedding was all of the DIY details Tamiko poured her heart into. From the Japanese Doll wedding favors to the shotgun shells place cards, this day was clearly a representation of who this couple is. It captured their personality, flair and love.
The atmosphere was friendly, warm and very comfortable which was exactly how they wanted everyone to feel. Plenty of children were in attendance since of course friends of their children were invited, and those little ones rocked out to the Hustle (way before their time) and Gangnam style during the opening of the dance floor. To maintain the personal experience of the event, their good friend Jeanne Sakuma emceed the day with tons of personality and lots of tidbits about the lovely couple. And one of the sweetest moments of the evening was when their children made personal toasts to their newly committed parents.
Their wedding cake, created by Cakes by Tricia Faye, had guests gushing over the beautifully detailed cherry blossoms and Japanese Dolls wedding toppers. And they had the good fortune of having their experienced cake slicing friend Edlyn Takahashi on hand to help with doling out the delicious cake!
We truly had the most amazing time coordinating this event because there’s nothing more beautiful than to witness so much love and harmony being displayed. Tamiko and Cyndi showered us with love as well which means a great deal to us in more ways than they know. It was truly an honor to partake in such a special day and we wish them a lifetime of joy & happiness!
